 hey there, everyone! my name is melinda and i am glad to be here. i had a friend from mixedfolks.com tell me about this place quite some time ago, like a year or two ago but had forgotten about it until recently. there maybe a couple of folks on this board who belonged to mixedfolks.com back when i did, if so it will be nice to see your posts and interact w/ you again. as for everyone new, i am always up for "meeting" new people and hearing new thoughts and ideas. that's the best way to continue learn and grow as a person, IMO.
oh, and i am a multiracial, or "triracial" individual. my mom is white yet is of 1/8 native american ancestory and my dad is black yet is roughly 1/4 non-black (that part being comprised of native and german). i am also a very proud mother of 4 boys  which is very interesting at times!  
thanks for opening your women's only forum for me. i love to talk chick stuff. |

| Hi mul2std, welcome to the women's only forum! Four boys!!! WOW, sounds like you have your hands full. How old are they? I have one daughter and one son. My daughter is 12, my son will soon be 10. I've never posted to Mixedfolks.com. Do you still post there? |

no, i haven't been a member on mixedfolks for a while now. no disrespect to the site but i got kind of bored w/ it.
as for my kids, i have boys who are 17, 16, 11 and 7 years old. my oldest son is special needs but many times he is the best behaved out of all of them. they're all excited about being out of school now and looking forward to getting into all kinds of trouble. |

Hey newbie Melinda. Nice introduction. Four boys?! Wow, you have your work cut out for you... But I'm sure you're handling it just fine.
I'm originally from California and my husband is German. We're raising our son (and second son to be who'll be here in a few months) bilingually and biculturally.
You appear to have quite an upbeat tone so I'm sure you'll be able to add some wisdom and entertaining discussion to the board.
Looking forward to reading more from you. |
