I am not sure what the above refers to. I suspect that it is about Sagascend's criticism (and my own, for that matter) of the tactical efficacy of some of A.D.'s Interracial Voice editorials from years ago. As I recall, one bone of contention was A.D.'s highlighting the racial intolerance of liberals via the rhetorical metaphor of Black-on-White rape.
In any event, whether it is A.D.'s imagery of sexual violation, or some other literary flourish that Sagascend (or anyone else) considers off-putting, it is the prose itself that should be discussed, and not the personalities involved.
If someone other than A.D. considers this worth discussing (it takes two to make a debate), I suggest that the individual choose from among A.D.'s editorials, post a link to the text in a new thread in the "Issues for Biracial Americans" forum, and then critique the piece. A.D. could then respond.
Again, the focus should be solely on the text of the chosen editorial and nothing else--not on any other writings and certainly not on personalities nor on attributed motivations. |
