I'm sure lots of guys would HOOK UP with Paris Hilton, Ty.

lol yeah, fame does that doesn't it? Something about being on tv or movies makes a person look more attractive or appealing for some reason. That same person if not famous and around the way may not have that same appeal.

Would they want a relationship with her? Nope!

lol true, but many people do marry for money or fame/exposure

So basically what I think Bischoff is saying is that he likes DECENT women...not trash. Like it or not, that's what comes to most people's minds when they think of a woman who had the misfortune of coming from the ghetto, a trailer park, or a "disadvantaged background" to put it nicely.

Coming from that type of environment doesn't always make the person, as Richard said. However, most of the time it does, from what I've observed.

True, and i've also taken not that what may be seen in the streets doesn't reflect who is at home, church, the job trying to better themselves in that same environment. It's because they are not on the street we don't see them.

To be totally honest about Paris Hilton's looks, if she was just another chick from around the corner, she wouldn't exactly turn heads at the local night club.

Every man, whether he'll admit it or not, has "hooked up" with a woman from the local club or bar, who wasn't that good-looking, but out of a feeling of laziness or urgency at the time, approached the best looking woman that he knew would say "yes" right away. While Paris Hilton doesn't really look "all that" in my eyes, she does look like SOME effort will be required - needless to say, most of us have hooked up with worse.

I agree, (she has literally no behind) it looks like when she sits down she should just slide off of whatever it is she's trying to sit on.

She has a bit of money and can afford to make herself look better.

I would never go out with New York in a million years. She is too loud, obnoxious, and acts way too ghetto for my tastes. I prefer women who acts more feminine and ladylike. That is why I could never see myself dating an African American woman from the innercity.

Do you even know what the term "inner city" means? I think the term has been thrown around so often that the definition has been lost.

I think, even without and facts, stats ,it is easy to say ,that White guys do not prefer Black women....and that is okay. It is a racial thing.[/quote]

"Do white guys like black women?" Yes they do, all don't most probably don't but there are a lot of white men that like black women... We are having a conversation on the Lovings a white man with a black woman
1 Thanks Gemini! UGH!!!!!!!!!!! I need to proofread!!!! I meant to TYPE " It is not a racial thing." :-(
2 That second quote is not from me.

3 I did post two different questions there and answered no to both.
4 I know the posts changed to the Lovings, but I wanted to post and answer the thread's question.

5 I stand by this... You like what you like and I do not think it is a racial thing that some people are just not sexually attracted wanting to date or marry others of a different ethnic group.

Likewise, many people say this and feel this way, but then they just meet someone of a different ethnic group and they just click...chemistry. Those kind of people in those kind of relationships are the best examples of people who just naturally allow or not allow a relationship to happen because it is not a conscious thing. It just happens. Chemistry takes over. Fictional example-The movie, Something New. The female lead character was adament about no White guys. Only one kind of man for her, Black, and eventually her common sense and chemistry took over when she met the "other man." It happens in real life like this for many people as well. The other character, the guy, made it clear that he just dated women of all groups and he based them as individuals. Some people just date across ethnic groups. Some people do not. I do not think it is racial. I do not think they are racist. Now, what about people who are of one ethnic group and they date only other groups...that is a another thread and a different thread.

No, I meant the original thread was about Black White (Americans) which brings in a different dynamic

I agree, I don't think it's racial or racist not to be attracted to someone of another ethnic group.

Sometimes it is because of prejudices. I have a female friend Belgiorno who was told by a white dude he could never date an Italian because they are greasy.

I definately agree with your post, and it is a complex issue (the laws of attraction)
Sometimes where it seems it's not racial, you ask a person and they are honest, things come out that point to ethnic difference. A friend of mine (Montana) is Italian/Sicilian, he is highly attracted to black women (darker skinned-non mixed) He has a female friend who he is attracted too but she liked him but wasn't really drawn to him, one of the reasons is she doesn't like a lot of hair on the guys she dates. Most black men are not hairy, most Italian men are. So it wasn't directly 'racial' or ethnic but when it comes down to it... it really is.

And then as you said there are people only drawn to people like themselves because that's all they have ever known.

I think people who for a period of time are socially mingled with peole of different ethnic groups fall into that catagory of people who easily allow chemistry to take over.

There is a scientific word I'm seaching for. I had a list of them a while ago. There is a word for people who are sexually attracted to people of another race.

Ty, behave yourself! Laughing **spanks both Ty and Richard, sends them to the time-out corner**

I dunno, Paris seems to think she's hot stuff anyway. My fiance works with this guy (who is married but we suspect that he's gay) who LOVES her. Maybe there is some truth to the stereotype that gay men tend to be more aesthetically drawn to the looks of very androgynous/masculine females in the fashion world.

Ty, how did your friend react to that guy's comment? That is mean. Evil or Very Mad I believe that we all have biases to an extent, but I would never reject anyone as a friend or potential partner based on skin color or any other superficial nonsense. I only distance myself from people who conduct themselves in ways that I find undesirable. Color is irrelevant when it comes to the friendships that I have, IMO...it is the character of individuals that concerns me the most.

It is true that most White men tend to be more hirsute than black men. My fiance has dark brown hair, piercing blue eyes like mine, and fair freckled skin with lots of reddish-brown fur all over his body. He isn't Italian...his parents are both of Scottish descent and they're very Southern.

She was confused by it for a while but she loves her ethnicity, olive complexion and thick (shiny) darkbrown seriously curly hair. She seems to hand prejudiced beliefs well. Her family actually got a lot of flack from Irish -American associates for some reason.

What's the deal? Did she ask him out, only to be shot down?

Hmm...it is noteworthy because I've heard so often that both groups (Italian-Americans AND Irish-Americans) were viewed as nonwhites in this country for a while. So the fact that people of Irish descent would be unkind to this person and her family because they perceive Italians as "greasy" is upsetting.

Kudos to her for not allowing that moron to lower her self-worth. And kudos to her for being proud of her culture and who she is!

Actually that was the confusion he was someone she knew in college and he just came out of the blue with the comment. Almost like he was considering her romantically.

Hehe, unfortunatley, this is something that many women don't want to hear; namely, the one's who measure their... "beauty" (or other aspects of self esteem) by the number of men they attract or have had sex with, or how attractive those men are. Some of those very women just might have benefitted one too many times from a man's laziness or urgency... Wink
