A clarification:
Anonymouse was not suspended for advocating criminal violence. There is currently no site rule against advocating criminal violence. (That may change as a result of another thread in this forum.) In fact, we had already a thread set up where people can argue the pros and cons of criminal violence or of its advocacy.
Anonymouse was suspended for hijacking a thread about boys in a tree. He was told to post about criminal violence in the thread designated for that purpose. Instead, he continued to try to divert the boys in a tree thread from its topic towards whether his not "frowning upon" some criminal violence was "advocacy." That may well be an interesting semantic question, had it not been deliberately off-topic in resonse to a warning to stop posting off-topic. He was suspended for deliberately and knowingly violating rule 3.5 after a warning. His diverting attention away from his attempted thread-hijacking towards whether "not frowning upon" is equivalent to "advocacy" also violated 4.7. |
